LION, a biographical film, comes to the screen at Bahrain Cinema Club tonight from 7pm.
Based on the non-fiction book A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierly, the film follows a five-year old boy named Saroo who gets lost on a train which takes him thousands of kilometres across India, away from home and family.
Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple.
Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home.
Directed by Garth Davis, Lion was nominated for six Oscars including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
It was also nominated for four Golden Globe Awards including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
