BERGER Blue scored an emphatic six-wicket victory over Target CC to win the Kannada Sangha Bahrain Sixes Softball Cricket Tournament.
Chasing a modest target of 32 runs in six overs, Berger Blue cruised to victory with Karthik scoring 13 runs (12 balls, 2 fours) and Roshan giving the finishing touches with a three-ball 11 (1 six, 1 four).
Earlier, chosing to bat first after winning the toss, Target CC kept losing wickets at regular intervals as Berger Blue bowlers bowled a tight line and length while the fielders held some well judged catches in the deep.
Target CC were bundled out for 31 in 5.3 overs with Abid the top scorer (10, 7 balls, 1 six, 1 four) while Saqib contributed seven runs (5 balls, 1 six).
Earlier in the semi-finals, Berger Blue edged out Rising Stars by two runs in a thriller.
Batting first, Berger Blue were all out for 44 runs with Karthik again being the main contributor with an aggressive 25 (15 balls, 2 sixes, 1 four) while Praveenraj lend him good support making 12 (11 balls, 1 six).
For Rising Stars, Romy claimed four wickets for eight runs.
In rely, Rising Stars put up a spirited fight but fell short by three runs. Biju top scored with 17 runs (9 balls, 2 sixes) while Waqas made 15 (16 balls, 1 four).
In the second semi-final, Target CC beat Behbehani Brothers by nine runs.
Target CC made 48 all out with Saqib top scoring with 24 (10 balls, 3 sixes, 1 four) while Abid contributed 14 (12 balls, 1 six, 1 four). For Behbehani Asif claimed two wickets.
In reply, Behbehani were restricted to 39 for three. Nadeem top scored with 19 (21 balls, 2 sixes).
Gulf Air Cub representative Adnan Al Khadem and president of organising committee of Gymnastics in the GCC Omran Al Najdawe were the guests of honour.
