Shaikha Moza bint Nasser, member of the Group of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Advocates, attended a forum themed 'Law, Education and the SDG’s' as part of The Hague Institute for Global Justice's Distinguished Seminar Series.
The event was also attended by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, in her capacity as the UN Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, political leaders, NGO chiefs and the diplomatic community.
Addressing the forum, Shaikha Moza issued a stark warning to the international community, saying that education is being used as "an instrument of war" and unless we "break the vicious cycle of violence" the 2030 sustainable development agenda will not be delivered.
As founder of Education Above All (EAA), she stressed the importance of education as a vital tool in peace-building and conflict prevention.
