A Saudi animation film, directed by Ayman Tariq Jamal, proved to be a big hit in Turkey, according to Al Mowaten newspaper.
Turkish newspapers and media outlets gave positive reviews of “Bilal”, which was screened in 300 cinemas across the country.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan joined movie fans and watched the 3D computer-animated action-adventure film produced by Barajoun Entertainment.
The film was first premiered in December 2015 at the 12th Dubai International Film Festival before it was released in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
It was considered “The Best Inspiring Movie” on the Animation Day during Cannes Film Festival and “Best Innovative Movie” at the BroadCast Pro Middle East Award.
The movie depicts the life of Bilal ibn Rabah who was freed from slavery, rose to prominence and became one of the Prophet’s renowned companions.
