Abhishek Bachchan is the Bachchan family's biggest instagram user and it reflects in his posts on the site. He shared vintage photographs of himself as a child and of his famous parents. Sometimes he posts the story behind those photos but even when he doesn't the photos are a nice reminder of a younger, more dynamic Amitabh.
Abhishek's Instagram is a treasure trove of vintage photos of the Bachchan family
This was captioned, "#throwbackthursday taken in the mid 80's ( 1985 if memory serves). I call it Big B and the Bachchan bunch. Dad was hospitalised with Mysthenia Gravis and my sister, cousins and I had gone to visit him. Being too young to understand what all was going on our parents always made it out to be like an outing so that we would not be disturbed by the hospital and its workings. When I used to visit my father after his accident on the sets of "Coolie" in 1982, seeing him connected to many drips and machines, he used to tell me they were kites that he had got for me. I was 6 yrs old. My father was fighting for his life and all I thought about was... why isn't he allowing me to play with these kites??? The innocence of childhood I guess."
This was posted on Karan johar's birthday but was perhaps taken around the time when Karan was in his late 20s.
The caption red: #flashbackfriday at the wonderful Marrakesh film festival with @amitabhbachchan back in 2003. Great memories from that trip.
"#throwbackthursday on the sets of Guru in 2006. This was our last day of shoot in Badami which is where we shot Guru's village before shifting to Chennai. This is a scene when Guru is checking the plans for his 1st factory. Standing just behind me is Ashok Sawant whom we all lovingly call "dada". He's been my make-up artist since my 1st film."
"#waybackwednesday this is at the mahurat of Angaarey a film produced by @srishtibehlarya and @goldiebehl
This was one of the 1st times I met @akshaykumar
He was as loving and caring then towards an awkward 18yr old as he is today."

"That's my Dadaji with my sister and cousin sisters and me..... Good times. All 4 of my sisters are going to kill me for posting this photo! 😂"
"It is my late grandfather's Birthday today. Miss him dearly. Whilst growing up, on our birthdays he would write a poem for each of his grandchildren. We didn't understand that when everybody else was giving us presents why Dadaji would just write us a poem. Today I realise that those pieces of paper are greater than any present we could have ever received. The love and wisdom in those hand written letters are priceless. Love you Dadaji and I proudly carry the name that you gave me."

Abhishek captioned this photo as: "Can't even remember how many times I would drape a bedsheet in the same way and re-enact this sequence from "Coolie". Would make my friends play the role of Zafar and shoot me with a plastic play gun and I would play the part of Iqbal.
Yup, I learnt very early in my life that God made only one Amitabh Bachchan. Happy second birthday Pa. You are my inspiration.
#BigB #2882"
This is perhaps the oldest photo of Amitabh that abhishek has shared... it looks like it's from a period before Amitabh entered the film industry.
Amitabh and a young Abhishek.
This looks like it is from a movie set and since Abhishek only put up this picture to wish his parents happy anniversay we can only guess at the back story.
Did you know that these two greats - Amitabh bachchan and Muhammad Ali almost did a film together?
This photo was taken at Ali's home in LA.
Big B spoke about the incident when Ali died, " "I went to his home in 1979, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. He was simple, smiling and down to earth. The world knows of his achievements. Prakash Mehraji wanted to make a film with us and we had gone to his home to talk about it. That film didn't happen but those moments that I spent with him were extremely memorable. I believe that he was the greatest and will always remain the greatest. His life, the obstacles he had to face, he not only fought in the ring, but outside as well.
"
These were days when all was not going well for Amitabh Bachchan... this beard was one of his many experimentation to figure out 'the look' that would make him more 'palatable' as a hero to the audiences.
This is from Abhishek's first stage show "IIFA Amsterdam in 2005. This photo was taken in the wings just as we got off stage. The finale was Kajrare with "the B" and "the Mrs.". Choreographed by my dearest Shiamak Davar. It was an amazing night and the performance especially the finale when dad and Aishwarya joined on stage was insane! Remember all of us being so pumped that we couldn't sleep all night after the show ended. My full love and respect to Shiamak and his dancers for making the show such a smash. They're the best! Such a wonderful memory. Must do another stage show again soon."
