Egypt has officially added retired footballer Mohamed Aboutrika to a terrorism list for his ties to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, according to Akhbaar24.
His name was cited among other leading businessmen and politicians on a terror list, which was published in the Official Gazette.
The list also includes former Islamist president Mohammed Mursi, Safwan Thabet and leading figures affiliated with the banned Muslim Brotherhood.
Aboutrika will not be able to renew his now-cancelled passport and his assets will also be frozen.
