A high-tech electronic Quran was launched under the auspices of Sultan Qaboos ibn Said of Oman.
Minister of Heritage and Culture Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq al-Said attended the inaugural ceremony during which Muscat e-Quran was unveiled.
The Muscat e-Quran was reviewed over three years by a specialized committee commissioned from the Islamic Research Academy at Al Azhar.
The panel made outstanding efforts over three years in auditing and reviewing the e-Quran, taking into account the approved calligraphies.
Dr. Thomas Milo, executor of the Muscat e-Quran staged a presentation on the characteristics of the Muscat e-Quran.
He pointed out that the electronic text in the Quran contains grammatical and writing rules that are extremely complex and cannot tolerate distortion.
