Dubai: The first ever UAE-designed and manufactured sports car has been flown to France aboard Emirates SkyCargo, the shipping arm of the Emirates Airways.
The Design-1 sports vehicle will be displayed at the 85th 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance, to be held on Saturday and Sunday (17–18 June 2017) at the Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France.
Reminiscent of the 1960s classics sports cars, the Design-1 is the brainchild of the Jannarelly Automotive with Equation Composites LLC – the first UAE-licensed firm, according to Emarat Alyoum.
The lightweight customised car was built by a small team of highly-qualified experts, who used hi-tech composite materials. Each customized piece could fetch from $70,000 to $90,000.
