GENEVA: Bahrain has categorically rejected a statement by special rapporteurs of the UN’s Human Rights Council on the situation in the kingdom as lacking in objectivity and transparency.
Bahrain’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva yesterday said the statement “is contrary to reality and does not reflect the truth of the matter, because it contains negative and inaccurate signals, contradicted by facts carried out by competent authorities exercising their powers to protect and safeguard human rights on the basis of their responsibility to protect security and society and enforce the law” .
