The number of Omani women who were killed in fatal road accidents has increased alarmingly over the past few months, said the Times of Oman.
According to recent official statistics, 36 Omani women lost their lives last March, April and May, up from 23 in the same period last year.
The number of Omani women dying on Oman's roads has risen dramatically compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the overall rate of deaths due to deadly traffic accidents over the same period fell by 10 per cent.
Updated figures released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information show the overall number of casualties dropping to 236, down from 263 last year.
A total of 62 expatriates living in Oman were killed this year in fatal road crashes, down from 96 last year, said the Times of Oman.
