Syrian singer Asala was arrested at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut, Lebanon, for carrying drugs.
The authorities have reportedly found five grams of cocaine in her make-up kit, which she was carrying in her handbag.
According to Lebanese Al-Diyar daily newspaper lab tests had shown traces of drugs in her blood.
The UAE-based singer denied the charges, saying that she did not know anything about the drugs in her bag.
The singer reportedly said during the investigation that someone had planted the drug in her bag.
Asala, a vocal critic of Assad regime, was on her way to Cairo, in the company of her husband, Egyptian director Tarek Al-Eryan.
Judge Claude Karam later ordered the Syrian singer to be released pending results of a second drug test.
