A campaign has been launched to promote the Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts and Literature.
Omani authorities have decided to further expand the 6th edition of the prize to include nominations from other Arab countries.
A meeting was held yesterday and another will be held today in Beirut, Lebanon, to shed light on the prize.
A committee in charge of promoting the prize in the Arab World is also planning to hold meetings in Egypt – the first will be held on Sunday (July11) at the High Council for Culture and the other, two days later at the Ain Shams University.
The prize is awarded to winners in three main areas – economic designs, architectural design and literary critique.
Launched in 2011, The Sultan Qaboos Award has so far been conferred over the past five editions to 15 Omani and Arab winners.
