GRAVITY Indoor Skydiving yesterday announced continuation of its sponsorship of world class coach and flyer Ben Roane and the first professional indoor skydiving team.
The team, consisting of Roane from the US and Gravity’s very own instructor Garth Lewis from South Africa, was formed in October 2016 and since then have been proving themselves to be a successful duo.
Roane joined Gravity last year and was the first professional sponsored athlete to represent Gravity Indoor Skydiving.
Encouraged by his brother, Roane began his journey in tunnel flying and skydiving about six years ago and has had a lengthy career in high-level competitions in the US, Sweden, Prague and Dubai. He has won world champion titles to date.
Lewis has always been a competitive individual, representing South Africa in martial arts and squash in the past.
Four years ago, he decided his passion was in the sport of body flight and began his career as a wind tunnel instructor in the UK.
Lewis arrived at Gravity Indoor Skydiving in October 2015 and brought with him a wealth of experience and some fantastic flying skills. Gravity Indoor Skydiving is Bahrain’s first indoor skydiving facility and is located in Zallaq, just south of the Bahrain International Circuit.
