Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud made a telephone call to Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al Abadi and congratulated him on the rapid defeat of the terrorist Islamic State (IS) and liberation of Mosul.
The Saudi monarch hailed the victory which, he said, “represents a promising step that ushers the beginning of the end of terrorist outfits, in both Syria and Iraq”, according to SPA.
He reiterated Saudi Arabia's unflinching stance backing all efforts to combat the scourge of terrorism and dry up its sources of funding.
The Iraqi Premier expressed thanks to King Salman, commending the Saudi role in combating terrorism.
“This victory is for all,” said the Iraqi Premier, stressing his country's willingness to step up co-operation between the two countries in fighting terrorism.
