Parliament yesterday strongly condemned Israel’s closure of the Al Aqsa Mosque.
“It is in violation of religions and human values. It is also a crime against the Palestinian people,” a statement said. Al Aqsa Mosque, for the first time since 1969, was closed to the public and Palestinian worshippers had been banned from performing their prayers there.
This blatant violation is likely to escalate the situation in occupied Palestinian territories, especially in Al Quds, the statement said.
MPs rejected Israeli policies of oppression, discrimination and repression against Palestinians and called on the international community to shoulder its legal and human responsibility to halt such violations.
