Two Omani sisters, aged 19 and 27, drowned in a pond while on vacation with their family in the Wilayat of Ibri.
The dead siblings were identified as Ghazwa and Hajer Al Saedi, said a report in the Times of Oman.
The elder sister, Hajer, had just completed her college education last year and Ghazwa was due to graduate next year.
According to statistics from the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA), 286 people drowned in Oman last year, up from 113 in 2015. In 2014, 150 drowning incidents were reported.
