The K Hotel won the Shoot-out Competition Cup after defeating Sofitel Hotel 3-2 in the final at the Bahrain Club Sports Hall in Muharraq.
It was an unexpected victory for The K team after strong teams were knocked out in the first round and the semi-finals.
There were seven teams in the competition. In the first round, Sofitel Hotel defeated Gulf Hotel 3-0, Lagoona Beach won 2-1 and The K team held off Swiss-Bel Hotel 3-2 while Westin Hotel got a bye.
In the semi-finals, Sofitel defeated Westin 3-2 while The K team shocked Lagoona 3-1.
The K team members will be honoured with the cup and gold medals during the closing ceremony of the second Hotels Futsal Championship on Saturday at the Bahrain Handball Association Hall in Um Al Hassam. It will be held under the patronage of Bahrain Authority for Tourism and Exhibitions CEO Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa.
Meanwhile, Lagoona lead the second Hotels Futsal Championship standings temporarily after defeating Novotel 7-5.
Lagoona’s Ahmed Al Omari scored a hat-trick while Prabesh Joshi and Ebrahim Mahmoud netted two goals each. Ammar Hassan spearheaded Novotel challenge with four goals while Hamad Salman scored the other goal. Novotel’s Ammar Hassan is the leading scorer of the championship with 20 goals.
Lagoona are now on top of the table with 16 points and Novotel are third with 12 points.
