The new state-of-the-art terminal at the Muscat International Airport is nearing completion.
Officials in charge of the infrastructure project announced a 97% completion of the milestone.
Omani authorities aspire to serve an average of 20 million passenger per annum with the opening of the new extension, as part of a long-term strategy to reach 48 million a year.
The new terminal, which boosts Muscat International Airport by up to 580,000 cubic meters, features three wings and 118 check-in counters for various airlines.
It also boasts 82 counters for Royal Oman Police (ROP) immigration proceedings, in addition to 40 aerobridges, 29 waiting halls and a four-star hotel.
