AL Hamala Youth Centre rallied from two goals down to beat Al Aker Youth Centre 3-2 in the Fifth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at Khalifa Sports City Hall.
Al Aker went 2-0 ahead in two minutes with goals from Hussain Fathallah (15th minute) and Mahmoud Abdullatif (16th).
But the two-goal advantage did not last long as Al Hamla pulled one back three minutes later and equalled the scores in the 28th minute, with both goals scored by Ali Saleh.
Ali Abdullah completed the turnover scoring the match-winner in the 37th minute.
Ali Saleh was declared the player-of-the-match.
In another match, Buri and defending champions Safra played out an exciting 3-3 draw.
Safra scored through Fawzi Jeshwa (6th), Fawaz Abdel Sattar (10th) and Hamza Khalid (17) to sit pretty at half-time with a handsome lead.
But Buri struck back in style in the second-half scoring their Sayed Hassan Jawad (19th), Sayed Hussain Sayed Hassan (29th) and Sayed Mahdi Sayed Mohammed (37th) to win a point.
Buri’s Sayed Abdulla Sayed Ahmed, who assisted in all three goals, was the player-of-the-match.
In the third match of the day, Karzakan edged out Buhair 4-3.
Mohamed Abbas, Mohammed Ashour and Mohammed Saeed put Karzakan ahead before Buhair hit back with goals from Ahmed Al Qabbat.
Saeed won the match for Karzakan with his second goal and his team’s fourth.
Karzakan’s Mohammed Said Al Fardan was player-of the-match.
Muharraq also staged a fine rally to pip Abu Saiba 4-3. Muharraq’s Jassim Ali Jiben was the player-of-the-match.
The league is being organised by Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa under the theme #Generations_Meeting and will run until September 14.
Member of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Ali Sharafi attended some of the matches on Saturday.
The second round of the league commences today with four matches.
5pm: Bani Jamra vs Dar Kulaib. 6pm: Zayed vs Ras Rumman. 7pm: Sadad vs Al Wusta. 8pm: Karana vs Jerdab.
