Al-Khayyat and Al-Showaikh said the league gives a good opportunity for the youth to meet, compete, interact and exchange expertise, as well as develop their skills.
The league is being organised for the fifth consecutive year by Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa under the theme #Generations_Meeting and will run until September 14.
It includes 59 teams that represent youth centres in Bahrain, local clubs, people with disabilities and girls’ teams for the first time.
Bahrain Sports Channel, which is exclusively providing television coverage of Khalid 5, has been receiving positive interaction since the start of the league on July 24.
The channel’s excellent coverage reflects the objective of its crew members to highlight national sports events that aim to empower Bahraini skills and talents.
Specialised crews are sent at the venue every day where they conduct interviews with visitors, players, coaches and spectators. It also ensures highlighting the events of the league on its daily sports news, aired several times on television.
Meanwhile, physiotherapist Mohammed Al Mansoor has been present since the start of Khalid 5 matches.
Al Mansoor, one of the main specialised physiotherapists in Bahrain and works under the umbrella of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, ensures the safety of players ahead of every match and provides them with advice to avoid injuries.
