Jab Harry Met Sejal', starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma has not set the Box Office on fire.
In fact, reviews have largely panned the movie and fans have been trolling on twitter as well.
Here is a sample of the reviews -
'Usually an Ali film scores on music, but here the songs are unable to touch a chord or find the soul of this film, perhaps because that’s the very thing that is absent from this story. What’s also missing from the screen is tingling, crackling chemistry between the leads because a largely two-hander, that follows a burgeoning attraction and self-discovery, needed fireworks.' - Udita Jhunjhunwala, thereel.scroll.in
'Jab Harry Met Sejal is absolutely banal with some hummable tunes. It’s a big disappointment to see Shah Rukh Khan returning to his comfort zone and yet not performing at the top of his powers.' - Rohit Vats, Hindustan Times
'The journey from Netherlands to Nur Mahal treats you to an opera, pole-dancing and SRK in every frame. Despite it all, you’re tempted to tell the filmmaker that the script of this travelogue that seems to have gone missing, could perhaps be languishing in his own backyard. Go search…' - Meena Iyer, Times of India
'Now the truth is this shtick has gotten old. After successfully exploiting themes of self-discovery in “Jab We Met” and “Rockstar”, it became clear watching “Tamasha” that Imtiaz may be running out of ideas. There are just so many times you can romanticize self-healing and coming-of-age before it all starts to feel contrived. In the case of this film, frankly Harry and Sejal come off as characters in search of a plot.' - Rajeev Masand, News18.com
'Ali is the filmmaker who introduced something different into Bollywood romance with his first few films, and Khan is king of the genre. Together, they could have created magic. Indeed, Khan is in his element, giving those lopsided grins, going from charming to intense (except for a few minutes of ugly crying) and metaphorically opening his arms wide to signal to us that he is back where he truly belongs after failing to set the box office alight with his last few films. But he is let down by a script that meanders and never really finds its way out of the woods.' - Shilpa Jamkhandikar, Reuters
