The Saudi Public Prosecution has summoned a number of twitter users for endangering public order, according to Sabq newspaper.
The social media users are accused of promoting extremism and influencing tolerant and moderate thinking in Saudi Arabia. In a statement, the Public Prosecution said that legal measures would be enforced on them.
Public Prosecutor Shaikh Saud bin Abdullah Al Muajab earlier warned that any content deemed harmful to society would be prosecuted, including media publications, social media, lectures, speeches, books and others.
He cited, particularly, incitement of hatred, sectarianism and intellectual and sectarian stigmatisation, as well as attempts to mislead public opinion.
