A hundred Qatari pilgrims have so far entered Saudi Arabia through the Salwa land border crossing to perform Haj rituals, reported Al-Arabiya Satellite TV channel.
Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud issued directives to open the only land border crossing linking the two countries.
The Saudi monarch gave orders to allow Qatari nationals planning to perform Haj to enter without electronic permits, directed to transport them from King Fahad International Airport in Dammam and Al-Ahsa International Airport.
He ordered that they be included in the Program of the Guests of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
The royal gesture followed a meeting between Deputy King Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Qatari Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Jasim Al-Thani who sought mediation with the Saudi authorities.
Saudi customs authorities announced that all preparations were made at Salwa border crossing as per the royal directives.
