Al Nasr Club legendary striker Majid Abdulla has been appointed as administrative manager of the Saudi National Team, which qualified for the World Cup in Russia 2018.

The appointment was announced following a meeting between the General Sport Authority president Turki Al Sheikh and Saudi Sport Federation chief Adel Ezzet.

Abdulla expressed his delight at the appointment, vowing to spare no effort to serve the national team in its 2018 Russia World Cup adventure, according to Sabq newspaper.

The former soccer star played for the Saudi National Team and was ranked among the top international scorers of all times with 115 goals.

He won Asian Footballer of the Year three times - in 1984, 1985, and 1986 - and clinched the AFC Asian Cup twice in 1984 and 1988.

He was also the top scorer of the Saudi championship six times and hailed as "Arabian Jewel” in recognition of his immense talent.
