A 54-year-old man living in the Sultanate of Oman was diagnosed with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus (CoV), according to the Times of Oman.
The World Organisation (WHO) said that the new case of the infectious disease was discovered on August 30 in Oman's Musannah, in Batinah province.
The last case of MERS-CoV was reported in Oman on the November 29, 2016.
According to updated WHO statistics, 722 people died of MERS-COV as per September 12, out of 2,080 people who were diagnosed with the disease.
