AHMED Amir yesterday signed a new contract the Bahrain-based Brave Combat Federation.
Amir is one of the key figures on the Arab mixed martial arts stage. Competing in the welterweight division of Brave Combat Federation, he has a six-fight win streak.
The Egyptian fighter has relocated to Kuwait to focus on his MMA career.
“It is a remarkable opportunity for me to be part of the Brave International Combat Week (Brave 9) in Bahrain. I would love to use this opportunity to represent the Arab world and prove our sporting excellence,” said Amir.
Brave 9 will be held in Bahrain at Khalifa Sports City, Isa Town, on November 17, 2017.
“The growth of MMA in the Middle East is due to the support and encouragement of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the founder of Brave Combat Federation.”
The international athlete rose to fame after shocking the MMA world by defeating jiu-jitsu expert from the US, Richie Martinez, after reversing submission attempts thrice.
In the fourth edition of Brave, Amir scored over Kevin Kobdolsky by technical submission.
Kobdolsky trains under the coach of Conor McGregor at Straight Blast Gym, Ireland.
