THE final matches and the closing ceremony of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, Players with Disabilities and Girls will be held today at Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town.
The event is being held under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, first deputy president of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and honourary president of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities.
The league is being held for the fifth consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in cooperation with the Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The league was launched on July 24 and include 59 teams representing three categories - youth centres and unregistered clubs, centres and societies of people with disabilities and girls teams (for the first time) in the fray.
Contested
The girls final will be contested by Team Will and Team Determination at 5pm while Movement Disability clash with Special Olympics Team in the final for Players with Disabilities at 6.30pm and Muharraq take on Sanad at 7.45pm in the final of the youth centres league.
Head of the girls’ tournament committee Salama Ateeq thanked Shaikh Khalid for directing to include a league for girls for the first time with the aim to empower girl teams.
