Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti authorities are taking legal action against a liner which is suspected of causing an oil spill in the area of Ras Al-Zur.
The Environment Public Authority is undertaking the legal action in coordination with other competent maritime authorities, based on satellite images.
According to a law on protecting the environment, vessels, beachfront companies and factories are banned from dumping oil and other harmful substances in Kuwait territorial waters.
Meanwhile, citizens spotted a new oil spill on the coast of Abu Halifa and posted video recordings on social media websites. This is the fifth oil spill to be reported in Kuwait in sixty days.
