Dubai: A British man is facing legal action in Dubai for making an obscene gesture.
Jamal Ahmed Mukaddem, an IT worker, flipped the middle finger at an Asian driver during a road rage row.
The 23-year-old made the obscene gesture as he was heading to the airport in a hired car after spending a holiday in Dubai with his wife last February.
He was arrested at the airport immigration control on returning to Dubai on September 10.
The Asian expatriate insisted on suing the Briton, refusing to withdraw the complaint, said Dubai Police General Command.
It said that the case had been referred to the Public Prosecution, saying that all people are equal before the UAE law.
In a statement issued today, it deplored the inaccuracies which were cited in a report published by an international network, including statements made by unofficial organisations.
