Dubai: An Egyptian, who wanted to sell his Porsche Cayenne, was duped by a fake buyer who drove in a Ferrari. The Egyptian offered to sell his car model 2011 on one of the websites for AED 200,000. The same day he got a call back from an interested party who requested to meet him and immediately complete the purchase formalities. The buyer remained in his car, while his friend dealt with the victim. "The buyer’s friend told me that the buyer is from the ruling family and that he owns many companies, and he wants to finish all sale procedures tonight so that he could gift the car to his wife who lost her car in an accident,” said the victim as per Emirates 247.
The man even receive a cheque of AED 190,000 immediately. However, he was shocked the next day when he learnt that the bank account, which is in the name of the car rental company owned by the buyer and wife, was closed five years ago. He got another shock when he saw his car being advertised and put on sale on the same website.
He immediately rushed to the Al Qusais police station and discovered that the buyer of his car is a serial offender and already had five complaints against him in similar cases. The case in now in the criminal court.
