A grade three Bahraini primary school girl has qualified for the final of the Arab Reading Challenge, which is being held the United Arab Emirates, according to Al Bayan newspaper.
Nine-year-old Aisha Badea Mohammed is among 16 candidates from 14 Arab countries who won local contests to vie for the coveted prize.
The final round of the 2nd Arab Reading Challenge was launched under the patronage of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The winner of the 2nd edition of the Arab Reading Challenge will be announced tomorrow – Wednesday – at a major ceremony.
The Arab states represented in the final round includes hosts the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Algeria, Mauritania, Tunisia, Lebanon, Palestine, Sudan, Jordan and Morocco.
