The Kuwaiti traffic authorities are raising the alarm over the rising number of fatalities in road accidents, according to Al Qabas newspaper.
According to latest statistics released by the General Directorate of Traffic, 335 Kuwaiti nationals and expatriates were killed in road accidents between January and mid-October.
The spate of road crashes across Kuwait left more than 10,000 people wounded over the same period.
Last January was the deadliest as 47 Kuwaiti nationals and expatriates died in road accidents, followed by February (43), September ( 34) and March (32).
The traffic authorities surveyed a total of 74,000, while the number of traffic tickets soared to 1.3 million.
Police confiscated 21,460 cars and deported 120 expatriates caught driving without licences.
