The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iraq will be signing an agreement to establishing a joint co-ordination council.
A high-level Iraqi delegation led by Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi will arrive today in Riyadh to seal the deal.
The Iraqi delegation will include ten ministers and up to 60 government advisors, according to Akhbaar24.
Iraqi Ambassador to Riyadh Roshdi Al A’ani described the establishment of the council as a major boost, pointing out the recent visit of 200 Saudi businessmen to Baghdad. This was following the lifting of suspension of Saudi Arabian flights to Iraq after 27 years.
US Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson is planning to attend the first meeting of the Saudi-Iraqi co-ordination council.
