Filipino Stephen Loman from Team Lakay is confident that he will win the bantamweight championship at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions on November 17 at Khalifa Sports City.
Loman, who has represented the Philippines in several MMA events around the world, will face Gurdarshan Mangat of Canada at the main card of the event.
This will be the first time a fighter from the Philippines is competing for a title at Brave Combat Federation.
With eight wins in his professional career, Loman is on a three-fight win streak. In his previous fight at the Brave Combat Federation, he defeated the sparring partner of Conor McGregor, Frans Mlambo, who is being trained by coach John Kavanagh at the SBG Gym.
Mangat is on a six-fight win streak. In his previous fight, he demolished India’s top featherweight fighter Abdul Muneer in a catchweight fight that went one-sided, giving him a unanimous victory.
“I am confident that I will bring the championship to Team Lakay in the Philippines. Mangat is a tough opponent but I am confident of defeating him, and that is what I am training for,” said Loman.
Mangat trains in Canada and has 10 victories in his professional career with only a single loss.
The event will be held during the 2017 Brave International Combat Week on November 12-19, which also features IMMAF World Championships.
