Air India has reportedly been sued for $97.7 million in New York Federal Court. The airline has been taken to the court for a breach in contract during the the 2013 and 2014 haj pilgrimages.
As per a report published in arabianbusiness.com, US carrier Dynamic International Airways was subcontracted by the Indian airline to transport haj pilgrims and carried 47,976 passengers in 2014 and around 6,000 in 2013. The report added, according to a complaint filed with the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, Air India still owes Dynamic more than $8.8 million in unpaid fees.
Air India as per the complaint has been using reconciliation in bad faith in order to delay making any payments.
