Viewpoint’s incisive appraisal of Marina West includes a reference to the committee asking candidates for submissions to complete the seven-year stalled project (GDN, October 17).
Surely a new developer isn’t being asked to submit quotes not only to complete the 10 residential towers but also to reclaim nearly two acres of land from the sea merely to provide swathes of a landscaped beach area and Palm trees depicted in the Marina West 2007 sales brochure?
There is also the 2007 developer’s grandiose plans for a BD45 million (MW Investment Options November 2011) for a five-star hotel and spa that does nothing to benefit the buyers of 1,168 apartments who seemingly are funding the entire project .
