An Indian expatriate who lived in Saudi Arabia for 37 years is running in the parliamentary elections in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
Prakash Rana pledged to donate his salary as an MP to needy families in cases he wins in the elections, according to Sabq newspaper.
The self-made businessman owns transportation and construction companies and deals in jewellery and diamonds.
He regularly donates 10 per cent of his profits to poor people in his country.
