The killer of Saudi diplomat Khalaf Al Ali has today been sentenced to capital punishment in Bangladesh, Okaz newspaper reported.
The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld the High Court verdict that sentenced to death Saiful Islam Mamun, who gunned down Al Ali on March 5, 2012 at the diplomatic zone in Gulshan.
The 45-year-old Saudi Embassy official died at United Hospital in the Bangladeshi capital the following day.
The Appellate Division sentenced Mohammed Al Amin, Akbar Ali Lalu and Rafiqul Islam to life imprisonment and acquitted Selim Chowdhury.
