MANAMA: The Bahrain-Japan Business and Friendship Society (BJBFS) has been awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendations for financial year 2017 by Japan’s Foreign Ministry.
The commendations certificate is awarded to individuals and groups for their outstanding achievements, and it is the first certificate granted to a Bahraini-Japanese organisation in the kingdom.
BJBFS earned the honour for its efforts in strengthening relations between the two countries in the fields of trade, culture and events organisation.
The society organises events and activities in various fields to reinforce co-operation between Japan and Bahrain, with the support of the Embassy of Japan in Bahrain and Bahrain’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The commendations letter from Japan’s former Foreign Affairs Minister Fumio Kishida was read out by Japanese Ambassador Kiyoshi Asako in a special ceremony held at Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa.
