BAHRAIN enjoyed a perfect start to their qualifying campaign for the AFC U-19 Championship yesterday following a 4-0 demolition of Nepal yesterday in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Stiker Ali Hasan Meftah put the victors in the lead with a goal in the 20th minute and they never looked back. They continued to hold a similar advantage at the half.
Meftah then found the net again seven minutes into the hour, before Ebrahim Alkhatal made it 3-0 four minutes from regular time. Bahrain then sealed proceedings with Sayed Mohamed Ameen Husain scoring their fourth just before the final whistle.
Bahrain head coch Mohamed Ali Khaled Almuqla said: “We had a good game against Nepal. There were many opportunities to score and we used them. I hope we can maintain our form for the next match against Kyrgyz Republic.”
The Bahrainis face off with their Kyrgyz rivals today. They are all in Group ‘A’ of the qualifiers along with the UAE and Oman.
