Riffa marched into the quarter-final of King Cup football competition after defeating Isa Town 4-0 in the second leg last night at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town.
In the quarter-final, Riffa will take on Malkiya who also advanced into the next round after beating Busaiteen 3-2 in their own last 16 round match.
After Riffa and Isa Town battled to a goalless draw in the first leg, the former proved far superior this time to secure a spot into the next round.
The first half ended 0-0, but Riffa showed their might in the second half by hitting all their four goals, the first courtesy of Isa Town defender Habeeb Nesaif’s own goal in the 49th minute. Riffa scored their second in the 61st minute through Danielo before Salman Al Seesi and Osama Bu Ghanmi added one each in the 83rd and 90th minutes, respectively.
Malkiya led the first half 1-0 with Ali Sayed Isa scoring in the 38th minute.
Busaiteen equalised in the 61st minute through Christian Alex. Malkiya scored two goals through Isa Al Marri in the 83rd minute and Esra Amer in the 88th minute, before Sultan Al Salatna scored Busaiteen’s second goal.
