A TEENAGER has been jailed for six months for punching a fellow student in the face because the latter wanted to “pass him on the stairs” at school.
The 16-year-old was arrested after he punched and pushed his victim down a flight of stairs at a government school in Isa Town in November last year.
The victim, aged 17, said the defendant attacked him after he asked him to move aside as he was in a hurry going up the stairs.
The defendant was sentenced to six months by the High Criminal Court yesterday after being found guilty of assault.
He initially admitted the attack to prosecutors but claimed it was only after the victim had kicked him in the groin.
