Kuwait City: A major conference shedding light on the tragic plight of Palestinian children living under Israeli occupation will open on Sunday, in Kuwait.
Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit will attend the conference which will focus on Palestinian children suffering due to the Israeli violations, in light of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Kuwait will also chair the 37th session of the Arab Social Affairs and Labour Ministers’ Council, which will be held on the sidelines of the two-day conference.
The conference features four sessions which spotlight reality of the Palestinian children under International Law and the Convention on the Rights of the Child; the role of the society and civil organisations for boosting the rights of the Palestinian children; the deteriorating educational, health and psychological conditions of the Palestinian children detained in Israel's prisons; and the legal protection of the Palestinian children under the Israeli occupation.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour is convening the conference, in cooperation with the Cairo-based Arab League General Secretariat.
