Visitors from 68 countries can now enter Oman on one-year-long tourist visas – provided they don’t stay in the country for more than one month, according to the Times of Oman.
Passports and Residency Director General Brigadier General Hilal Al-Busaidi announced the new regulations which benefit visitors from 39 European nations, 10 South American countries and 19 other states.
Foreigners with valid visas to the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom or have a Schengen Convention State visa can also enter Oman.
Foreigners planning to travel to Oman can apply for a tourist visa through the Royal Oman Police (ROP) website (www.evisa.rop.gov.com) or upon arrival at designated locations.
