MUHARRAQ and Al Hala both came away with big victories last night in the 10th week of preliminary round play in the Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
Muharraq crushed Al Hidd Club 121-41, while Hala trounced Isa Town Club 81-50.
Both games were played at Zain Basketball Arena in Um Al Hassam.
Muharraq enjoyed a comfortable night out from the opening tip. They had a virtually insurmountable 61-22 lead at the half and never took their foot off the pedal the rest of the way.
Seven players scored in double-figures for the victors. They were led by the 19 points of court general Ahmed Hassan. Hidd were paced by the 12 markers of Nooraldeen Mohamed.
In yesterday’s other game, Hala took control of the contest in the third quarter when they outscored their rival 33-10 to build a 63-36 lead.
Ahmed Jamal was the top scorer for Hala with 29 points including a perfect four-for-four from beyond the three-point arc. Mohammed Aziz led Isa Town with 23 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
League action continues tonight with Al Ahli facing Samaheej Club at 6pm followed by Al Najma Club and Sitra Club battling at 7.45pm.
