Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, participated in the Bahrain Post Open Waters Swimming Championship which was held in Bahrain Bay.
The 1.9km event featured a broad participation by elite athletes who are gearing up for the forthcoming Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain which will be held on November 25.
The course of the Bahrain Post Open Waters Championship equals the one designed for the swimming contest of the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain, giving the participating athletes the opportunity to test their preparations ahead of the internationally-recognised event.
Shaikh Nasser stressed the importance of participating in the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain, which will feature a large number of prominent athletes in this sport, noting that it is a great opportunity to show the technical potential of the Bahrain Triathlon Team members.
“The Bahrain Triathlon Team hopes to achieve a positive participation in the Championship that reflects Bahrain’s reputation,” Shaikh Nasser said.
