MANAMA: Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, is on the right track to achieve more development and modernisation, the Premier said yesterday.
The government is more determined than ever to achieve comprehensive development that serves the citizens and consolidates Bahrain’s status.
This was despite the huge regional and global challenges at the economic and security levels, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed.
The effective co-operation between the executive and legislative branches, which has become a distinctive feature of Bahrain’s political process, will strengthen the government’s resolve and give it more support to optimise achievements.
The Premier made the statements while receiving Royal Family members, senior state officials, parliament chairman Ahmed Al Mulla, MPs, businessmen, media personalities and citizens, in the presence of former parliament chairman Dr Khalifa Al Dhahrani.
The Premier praised the bonds between the country’s citizens as well as their commitment to cultural, religious and sectarian pluralism.
These qualities have become the source of the Bahraini society’s strength and unity and helped enhance Bahrain’s image globally.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s keenness to provide a decent living for its citizens through a comprehensive vision aimed at ensuring high-quality services.
He praised the role played by members of the legislative branch and cited their contributions in supporting the nation’s development.
The Prime Minister also underlined the patriotic stand taken by parliament and Shura Council members at regional and international gatherings and hailed their keenness to project Bahrain’s comprehensive development there.
“Members of the legislative branch have proved, through their proposals and discussions, the extent of their keenness on fulfilling the aspirations of the citizens, as well as on supporting the kingdom’s security and stability,” he said.
The Premier also stressed the importance of strengthening the spirit of co-operation between the executive and the legislature to enrich the country’s progress.
The Prime Minister lauded the key role played by the media through its articles and visions aimed at enlightening public opinion and raising social awareness on local and national issues.
“We must all work within the framework of an integrated vision of co-ordination and co-operation that will enhance the ability of the countries and peoples of the region to face challenges that threaten the security, sovereignty and stability of many states,” he said.
