The emirate of Fujairah slashed traffic fines by 50 per cent to mark the UAE's 46th National Day, according to Al Bayan newspaper.
The reduction will apply to violations committed before November 20, said Fujairah Police Chief Commander Major-General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi.
Drivers who pay the fines between November 25 and January 4 will benefit from the reduction, which applies also to confiscated cars.
Fujairah thus follows in the footsteps of Ajman, which earlier slashed traffic fines by 50pc to mark the UAE Year of Giving and the 46th National Day.
