Torrential rain lashed Jeddah today, Akhbaar24.com reported.
The authorities in Mecca province have suspended operations at the Jeddah Islamic Port due to thundery rain storms and low visibility.
Officials at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah said that flights have not been disturbed and urged travellers to contact their agents for any developments.
Saudi authorities had shut down schools and universities in Jeddah, Medina and other parts of the kingdom to ensure students’ safety.
