NUMISMATISTS in Bahrain have a rare opportunity to purchase an exclusive silver collectible from Disney World.
It is being introduced for the first time in the world at Jewellery Arabia 2017.
The 2018 collectible is the Disney Love one ounce silver coil, featuring a delightful black and white illustration of Disney icons Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
The fourth love-themed Disney coin released by New Zealand Mint is brought to Bahrain by Arihant Jewellers at a cost of BD37.
Arihant is also introducing other gold and silver collectibles in the Bahrain market at the region’s largest expo, which opened yesterday at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC).
“We saw a great interest among clients for collectibles which inspired us to get these from the world’s leading mints in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US,” said Arihant Jewellers Strategic Initiatives director Anand N Vasa.
“So far bullions of gold, platinum and silver were easily available in Bahrain, but collectibles are newly introduced.
“We have 50 pieces on display at the expo and over 500 in the showroom and these collectibles are also legal tenders, backed by any Commonwealth country, with the value mentioned on it.
“The older the collectible the more expensive it becomes, as these are minted in a fixed quantity every year. We also have 150 varieties of bullion products on display.
“The Disney love collectible which we have here is a limited edition (10,000 pieces) a prelaunch coin, which is scheduled to be launched on January 1.
“We brought this pure silver collectible specially for the show and it is for the first time it is on display in anywhere in the world.”
Arihant Jewellers is among five Bahraini outlets featuring for the first time in Jewellery Arabia.
Jameel Jewellers, Al Seef Jewellers, Natural Pearl and Gulf Pearls are the others featured in Aradous Pavilion spanning 72sqm, under the banner of the GCC Gold and Jewellery Association supported by Tamkeen.
Tamkeen chief executive Dr Ebrahim Janahi toured the pavilion yesterday.
“The pavilion will showcase locally produced gold coins, gold and Bahrain Pearl Jewellery items from five of Bahrain’s top jewellery manufacturer known for their intricate designs using both traditional and modern concepts,” said Dr Janahi.
“In addition to the wider participation of companies and the size allocated for the pavilion to accommodate this expansion, the contribution by Tamkeen will increase the outcome to show strong regional competence and variety.”
The GCC Gold and Jewellery Association is a registered trade association under the Labour and Social Development Ministry.
“The Pavilion will provide Bahraini companies with a platform to promote the country’s world famous pearls, traditional designs, quality craftsmanship and innovations to a global craftsmanship,” said its chairman Mohammed Sajid.
